Waiting

Two in the morning, I am alone
Here in this church at the crossroads
Holding a vigil, keeping a watch
Waiting for someone to come.

He will coming riding over the moors
Chasing the edge of the blackness
I will be waiting here at the door
Waiting for someone to come.

Waiting, waiting…waiting, waiting.

Maybe a prophet, maybe a man
Maybe a spirit from heaven
Maybe a child extending his hand
Waiting for someone to come.

He will bring glory, he will bring peace
He will deliver the kingdom
He will reveal what cannot be seen
Waiting for someone to come.

Will I be ready just as I am
Will I be ready at all
Will he come knocking, will I let him in
Will I answer the call?

I can look back on all of my deeds
All of the damages done
If I am foundering I can be found
Waiting for someone to come.

Three in the morning am I alone
Here in this church at the crossroads
He has been waiting since he was born
Waiting for someone to come…
Waiting for someone to come…
Waiting for someone…to come.
