Look at You Now

You arrived five weeks early, would she be alright
Had us both a little worried, we prayed that day and night
Look at you now.

You kept your secrets in a different well
Some were from heaven, others hard to tell.
We hoped it all would pass
But it all goes by so fast
We knew it wouldn’t last
Look at you now.

Look at you know, savvy and sure
Fresh as the dew, early in Spring
Lovely and bright, no longer a girl
Cautious and cool, nobody’s fool
But a woman of the world
It may take a little time
I’ll get used to it somehow
The court will kindly bow
Look at you now.

Were you born to be a dancer performing pirouettes?
‘cause you sing just like an angel and play your minuet.
And I can hardly wait to watch your roses bloom
As summer evenings fade to autumn afternoons
But that will come too soon
Look at you now.

Look at you know, savvy and sure
Fresh as the dew, early in Spring
Lovely and bright, no longer a girl
Cautious and cool, nobody’s fool
But a woman of the world
It may take a little time
I’ll get used to it somehow
The court will kindly bow|
Look at you now.
